CALDY were outmuscled in a tough physical battle away at Otley and did not manage to secure any bonus points in a disappointing performance.

Caldy were rocked in the first minute of the game as energetic back rower Adam Aigbokhae left the field with a serious injury.
Otley were first on the scoreboard as they kicked a penalty after four minutes which was soon cancelled out by a Richard Vasey penalty on seven minutes.
On 11 minutes, Otley back rower Johnathan Matthews powered over from close range but Cooper missed the conversion.
Richard Vasey kicked a further penalty before James Twomey continued his good form and scored Otley’s second try of the day to give Otley a 15-6 half time lead.
Otley started the second half the brighter side and Ben Cooper stretched their lead with a penalty kick before a long phase of play allowed the excellent Daniel Temm to break a tackle and race under the posts for a well deserved score. Cooper converted.
Huge prop forward Tobias Williams found space to go over from close range and left the score 32-6 in favour of Otley.
Caldy rallied in the last 20 minutes and Gavin Roberts marked his comeback with an excellent trademark try which Rich Vasey converted.
Stu Cross capped off another hard working performance with a try under the posts after Matt Van Sertima and Andrew Soutar made a fine break. Van Sertima was the stand out Caldy player all day with some great runs and solid defence.
Caldy tried everything in the last few minutes of the game to secure a bonus point but a knock on saw referee Taylorson blow the whistle to end the game.
This coming weekend, Caldy face league leaders Stourbridge who have 30 points from 30 having picked up another five points this weekend. Please come along a support our boys in what promises to be a tough test (kick off 3pm).
