CALDY bounced back from defeat last week with an excellent home performance against a strong Luctonians side who came into the game on the back of three successive five point wins.
For the most of the game, Caldy stifled the Luctonians attacks and made the most of their possession over the 80 minutes.
Caldy dominated the first half with Dom Kohler opening the scoring on 15 minutes after he found space out wide and skated past the defenders to score under the posts. Vasey converted.
Soon after, Matt Van Serbia popped up in the middle of the park and powered over the line for a well deserved Candy try. Vesey converted.
Adam Aigbokhae was yellow carded for Caldy but the home defence held firm as they pushed the Luctonians forward backwards and forced an error. Caldy saw out the remainder of the half unscathed.
Luctonians came into the game in the second half and scored a try out wide through Meredith after a mix up in the centres.
Vasey hit back for Caldy with two successive penalties to stretch the lead to 15.
Drew Cheshire scored a well worked second try for Luctonians in the corner but the game was sealed on 78 minutes when Rich Vasey kicked a penalty to wrap up the game.
