Caldy RUFC on the verge of another remarkable season

CALDY RUFC are on the verge of yet another remarkable season on the field.

The first XV broke one club record last weekend with the number of points scored in a season and this weekend will hope that they can score the six tries they need to break the record for the most registered in a campaign.

The first XV face Morley at home this weekend in their last game of the season (kick-off 3pm) which will be preceded by the Past Captains and Players Re-Union and promises to be a fantastic day.

It looks as though both the first and second XV will finish in a more than respectable fifth place considering the average age of the squad and the players they have used this season.

The Senior Colts, having finished second in the league, are in three finals in a week starting this weekend with the final of the Cheshire Cup against Altrincham Kersal followed by the Floodlit Cup Final on Wednesday and the Cock of the North Bowl Final to complete a tough programme.

The Junior Colts won the Raging Bull Bowl final two weeks ago.

The Junior section have also excelled this season with the under-16s in the Cheshire Cup Final against Macclesfield this Sunday, and the under-14s and under-13s are both in Cheshire Plate Finals against Sandbach and Anselmians respectively, also this Sunday.

The Minis Section have also enjoyed great success both on and off the field with several outstanding performances throughout the season including the Land Rover Cup Final for the under-11s and the Hoylake Festival win for the under-8s.

The Minis season will conclude this weekend when the under-12s face Lymm at Paton Field in the final of the Cheshire Bowl.

The club will celebrate another fantastic season on Sunday, May 1 at their Annual Awards Day.
