THREE late opportunist tries put New Brighton clear in this North One West clash at Hartsfield.
The scoreline was possibly harsh on a Blackburn side without a win all season.
The visitors had to be admired for their refreshing approach which hardly brought the reward it deserved.
The Blues played only in patches but led 23-10 at the break thanks to touch downs via Keith Mahon, Luke Thompson and Simione Mafi plus a penalty and conversion via Thompson and also a penalty by Neil Cross.
Blackburn were awarded a rather dubious penalty try converted by Paul Bleasdale who also kicked a penalty.
The Blues with wind advantage had to wait until the 70th minute for breakaway try by Kieran Hibbs. Then in added time Vinnie Dutton twice touched down following probing kicks deep into visiting territory.
Thompson targeted one more goal to add to Blackburn’s discomfort.
