NEW Brighton ran out of steam in the second-half as they fell to defeat at the hands of a hard working Sandbach in North One West League.

The Blues were only just behind 11-13 at the half-way stage.

Keith Mahon crossed and Anthony Birley landed a brace of penalties.

The home side gained a converted try and two penalties but got on top later when they breached the Brighton rearguard another three times.

The Blues never gave up trying and were rewarded with two final quarter tries via Mafi Felini and new recruit Chris Harrod plus another goal.

It was a third reverse for the Hartsfield side.
