Birkenhead Park see off Chester in close match

BIRKENHEAD held on for a 31-30 victory in a tense finish against Chester in the National Three North.

New Brighton earned a vital 17-16 North One West victory at Winslow. Nick Aldersley scored two first-half tries.

West Park remain firmly in the basement of National Three North despite some positive signs of progress against powerful Penrith. Park lost 12-26.
