Redcourt St Anselm’s will be representing Tranmere Rovers at Hillsborough

REDCOURT St Anselm’s will represent Tranmere Rovers in the next stage of Under 11 npower Football League Kids Cup at Hillsborough.

The Prep School qualified as winners for the six-a-side northern finals when an own goal in extra-time gave the lads victory against St Joseph’s Primary School, Birkenhead, at Prenton Park.

Some 50 Wirral primary schools entered the tournament with ŠSt Peter & Paul’s Primary School, New Brighton, and Greasby Primary School finishing runners-up.

If successful at Sheffield Wednesday in March, the school will advance to the final stages of the competition at Wembley on the npower Football League Play-Off weekend in May, prior to the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final.
