VAUXHALL’S away game to Gainsborough Trinity fell victim to the weather on Saturday as The Motormen were left without a game for the second successive Saturday.
Manager Carl Macauley said: “It has been a little frustrating to have been left kicking our heels for the last two weeks with both our games with King’s Lynn and Gainsborough Trinity not going ahead and for very different reasons.
“We need games as due to our current league position we have to start picking up points now, as we can’t afford to get too far behind the teams above us in the table.
“Every game, every point is going to be so important in the coming months for us.”
Next up for the Motormen is a home game on Boxing Day against Northwich Victoria (3pm). Macauley continued: “This will be a tough game for us as Northwich have proved difficult to beat this season although they have slipped a bit since exiting the FA Cup to Lincoln City earlier this month.
“After this game we start a run of five consecutive away games as if we haven’t had enough recently having had just one or two games since the beginning of November. Amongst those away games we have an FA Trophy second round tie at Stevenage Borough to look forward to but before then there are nine league points to play for.”
Don’t forget admission prices this season at Rivacre Park are £8 adults, £5 concessions, £3 students (student ID required) and all under-16s will be admitted free of charge.
