Woodchurch will face West Derby in the Merseyside Schools Final

WOODCHURCH will clash with West Derby in the under-16s Merseyside Schools Final – and both will go forward as county representatives in the national cup.

The Wirral lads overcame St Margaret’s 5-3 in an evenly-contested semi-final.

James Walker hit a treble and Jamie Clays a brace for Woodchurch with James Hooper (2) and Michael Slattery netting in reply.

West Derby had further success in round five of the under-14s national competition.

They were 3-2 winners over Ossett High School (Wakefield), Liam Davies (2) and Josh Lunt netting for the Merseysiders.

For the first time, Holy Family have reached the sixth round of the ESFA under-18s Schools Trophy with a 2-0 win over Catholic High School (Chester).

John Hurley and Josh Pritchard were the marksmen for Holy Family.
