ANNABELLE Sorrentino won three on her return to action in Wirrle Table Tennis League’s Lonsdale Cup, including an 11-8 triumph in the decider over Gordon Exell.

Her elder sister, Suzi, back after a lengthy absence, beat Harry Nelson 14-12 in the fifth. Frank Sorrentino beat Harry and Gordon, but lost to Jeff Sharples to enable NFGR II to beat Heswall III 6-4.

Meanwhile, Spinners VI knocked out first division team Heswall, with a 4-5 victory. Ron Spence beat Gary Williams three straight and Paul Loftus in five, while Joe Cooper came from behind to beat Gary in the fifth.

Spinners beat Pinewood II 9-1, Brian Carter enjoying victory over Josh McTaggart. Trebles from Steve Nicholls and Dave Morris helped Spinners to an expected victory. Bob West took Dave to a fifth set. In the Hepple Cup, NFGR III lost to Pinewood 4-5.
