MOTORS had to endure a late flurry from Solihull Moors but soaked up the pressure to extend their unbeaten league run to seven matches.
The Motormen were cruising after taking a 3-0 lead with an hour on the clock however Solihull hit back with two goals in the second half but could not find an equaliser in the closing stages.
Vauxhall dominated the first half but had to wait until the 28th minute before they took a deserved lead.
Ashley Stott’s effort was well saved by Jas Singh however Obi Anoruo reacted quickest to tap home the rebound.
Just before half-time, Motors doubled their advantage after being awarded a free-kick on the edge of the area after Singh had bundled over Stott.
Mike Burns whipped in the free-kick and Andy Nicholas converted at the far post.
Craig Mahon made it 3-0 on 59 minutes when his goalbound strike rebounded off Solihull defender Dominic Langdon sending Singh the wrong way.
On SATURDAY, Blue Square Bet North club Vauxhall Motors are inviting their supporters to bring along a friend to their league match against Guiseley free of any admission charge.
Chairman Alan Bartlam said: “We want to encourage some new faces to come along and what better way than to ask our regulars to bring a friend with them for free.”
