BRACKLEY TOWN moved back to the top of the table after a 2-0 victory over Motors in a tight affair at Rivacre Park.

Motors had started the game the better of the two sides and were passing the ball around well in the opening stages, without testing Brackley goalkeeper Billy Turley.

The visitors opened the scoring on 12 minutes. Owen Story hooked a high cross into the penalty area where Marvin Robinson got to the ball before onrushing goalkeeper Zac Jones to head the ball into the unguarded goal.

The hosts had chance to level on 21 minutes. Turley received a back pass and tried to take it around Craig Mahon. The Motors winger stole the ball and from the left touchline tried a speculative effort which had to be headed away from goal by Ryan Austin.

Turley was called into action on 58 minutes when he tipped over a 20 yard shot by Motors striker Tom Rutter. The resulting corner was cleared and after a quick counter-attack, Brackley almost doubled their lead, Glenn Walker forcing Jones into a good save.

The second goal did come on 72 minutes. Vauxhall left-back Lee Dames tried to head the ball back to his goalkeeper but it lacked enough power and Steve Diggin nipped in to take the ball past Jones and put the ball into the empty net.

Vauxhall pressed for a goal to get back in the game and Mahon hit an effort just wide, but Brackley stood up to the task to take all three points.

VAUXHALL MOTORS have taken winger Robbie Booth on a one month loan deal from Blue Square Bet North neighbours and rivals Chester FC.

Booth started his second spell with Chester in mid-September 2010 when he was signed from Droylsden.

MOTORS played promotion hopefuls FC Halifax Town at The Shay on Tuesday and host Harrogate Town this Saturday in the FA Trophy (3pm).

He played for Motors on Saturday in their 2-0 defeat at home to Brackley Town.
