EASTWOOD made it six victories on the bounce at Rivacre Park following two second-half goals from live-wire striker Lindon Meikle.

In a fairly uneventful opening half, the first decent chance came on 29 minutes when a dangerous Eastwood corner fell to Meikle on the edge of the area and his right footed shot beat Scott Tynan but smashed against his left hand post and away to safety.

Just before half-time, Motors won a free-kick 25 yards out from goal and striker Leighton McGivern stepped up and drilled home a brilliant low drive past the outstretched Eastwood keeper John Danby.

After the interval, Eastwood stepped up a gear and equalised on 56 minutes when a free-kick was only half cleared and Meikle pulled away from the crowd of players to cleverly turn and hit a right footed shot beyond Tynan from 12 yards out.

The winning goal came just seven minutes later when Matt Rhead threaded the ball through to Meikle who had pulled away from his marker and had time to comfortably slot the ball past Tynan from eight yards out.

Man-of-the-match Meikle nearly got his hat-trick just two minutes later. Rhead headed on to the striker on the right wing who tried to lob Tynan first time but his effort went inches past the right-hand post.

The home side looked ineffective in front of goal in the second period with their best chance falling to midfielder Dave Mannix on 81 minutes when he blazed over from just outside the area after latching onto a left-wing free-kick from McGivern.
