Nuneaton Town 3 Vauxhall Motors 0
TWO second half goals by Nuneaton defender Guy Hadland ensured league leaders Nuneaton took maximum points at Liberty Way.
The home side took the lead after just eight minutes when James Armson did well to win possession and play in Justin Marsden who clipped a shot past Scott Tynan into the far corner.
Leighton McGivern riled the home fans with his usual aggressive style of play but was Motors’ man-of-the-match and forced a fantastic save out of Danny Alcock in an otherwise uneventful first 45 minutes.
Nuneaton extended their lead three minutes after the interval when centre back Guy Hadland headed in Kyle Storer’s free-kick.
Vauxhall keeper Tynan was kept busy all afternoon and made some fine saves in the second half from Kyle Storer, Justin Marsden and Simon Forsdick.
The third and final goal came after 70 minutes when Adam Walker swung in a corner and Hadland was left unmarked to head past Tynan from close range.
Nuneaton keeper Alcock only had one shot to save in the second half when he did well to tip over a long range effort from Motors substitute Craig Mahon.
