Redditch United 2-2 Vauxhall Motors

VAUXHALL left the Valley Stadium frustrated after surrendering a two-goal lead to bottom of the table Redditch United, but are now six league games unbeaten.

It was Motors who struck first. Kylie Clancy, making his debut in the Vauxhall goal saw his long clearance fall into the path of Obi Anoruo who lifted the ball up and over Redditch keeper Dean Coleman.

Motors increased their lead 11 minutes into the second half when Andy Nicholas’ long throw was touched on by Anoruo for Neil Prince to rifle a shot into the corner of the net from the angle of the six-yard box.

This forced Redditch into making two substitutions and it was from one of those that Jemiah Richards powered home a header from a corner with his first touch of the ball.

The home side pushed for the equaliser as Motors had enough of the ball to have won the game only to see their neat approach play fall down in their host’s penalty area.

Redditch were level in the 79th minute when a long punt forward from Coleman was headed out by Tom Hannigan only for Phillip Green to latch onto the clearance and lash a 20-yard drive past Clancy.
