VAUXHALL strolled into the next round of the FA Cup with a comfortable victory against fellow Blue Square Bet North side Blyth Spartans at Rivacre Park.
Both sides were unchanged following last week’s 2-2 league encounter but only one side looked like they were going to win this game as Vauxhall dominated from the start.
The Motormen took the lead after 20 minutes when Neil Prince whipped in a dangerous free-kick from the left and defender Tom Hannigan reacted quickest to scramble home from close range.
On 34 minutes Prince doubled Motors’ advantage with a 20 yard screamer which went in off a post.
Just three minutes later it was 3-0 when man-of-the-match Paul Brown beat keeper Jake Cunningham with a well taken 25 yard effort.
Blyth pulled one back on 50 minutes when Stephen Turnbull turned and beat Scott Tynan from eight yards with a right foot shot but Vauxhall restored their three goal advantage just a minute later when Brown got his second with a fine strike from 10 yards.
On 85 minutes Motors got their fifth when Mahon outpaced his marker and back heeled to Prince who calmly slotted home.
Vauxhall: Tynan, Noone, Dames, Hannigan, Marsh-Evans, Smith, Mahon (Mboa), Prince, Anoruo (Grice), Wilson, Brown
