Vauxhall Motors 0
Wrexham 4
TWO goals in each half settled matters as a strong Wrexham side swept aside Vauxhall at Rivacre Park.
With the likes of ex-League players such as Frank Sinclair, Andy Morrell, Andy Mangan and Gareth Taylor in their starting line-up, Dean Saunders’s men looked a class above a Motors side consisting of a number of trialists and regulars looking short of match fitness.
Barely two minutes had elapsed when Andy Mangan gave Wrexham the lead with a neat finish from close range.
Just before the interval, Mangan was involved again by playing a neat one-two with Jamie Tolley who curled a lovely side-footed effort around goalkeeper Scott Tynan from the edge of the box to make it 2-0.
On 77 minutes, Wrexham striker Marc Williams was bundled over in the box and veteran Gareth Taylor comfortably netted the resulting spot-kick.
With just two minutes remaining, Williams set up midfielder Christian Smith who scored the goal of the game with a long range effort which flew into the corner of the net.
