VAUXHALL Motors are delighted to announce the appointment of Alan Schumacker as their new reserve team manager for their West Cheshire League side.
Alan, a long time resident of Ellesmere Port, takes over the reins from John Taylor who left the club by mutual agreement last month.
A former player with several leading non-league sides, guided Castrol Social to both the Cheshire Amateur Cup final and the Pyke Cup final during the last 12 months, leading from the front by scoring the winning penalty in the West Cheshire League's showpiece, ironically played at Rivacre Park last month, against treble-chasing West Kirby.
Alan is a well-known and popular local figure who is looking forward to his new challenge, working alongside club manager Carl Macauley.Motors chairman Alan Bartlam said: "I'm delighted that Alan has agreed to join us. Our reserves have not had the best of luck over recent years, but this appointment fills me with great anticipation, both in terms of the overall success of this side and the progression of players through to the first team."
