Motormen cashflow struggles
THE continuing arctic weather is now having an adverse effect on club finances at Vauxhall Motors FC.
Carl Macauley’s Motormen have now not played a competitive match on a Saturday since the start of last month, which not only causes a fixture headache but seriously impacts on other areas.
Club chairman Alan Bartlam explained “We lost the prospect of a decent gate and revenue on Boxing Day when near rivals Northwich Victoria were due to visit us. Yet we still have to order programmes and pies etc., which is an expense. We had already lost potential income from the F. A. Trophy tie that never took place against King’s Lynn and now we have had to pay out for hotel accommodation to Stevenage in the next round and again if it is postponed.”
“We have had a dearth of home games over the last couple of months to begin with but now the weather is compounding a poor situation still further. We are not due a home game until a week on Saturday (23rd), which may be the next time we are in action, in which case we could have lost six weekends on the bounce.”
