BRIAN Moogan scored a dramatic injury time penalty to ensure Vauxhalls stole a point at Ewen Fields after Hyde United had looked set to claim the win.
In the final minute, Hyde lost possession before the ball was passed to the pacy Josh Hine, who was hauled down by Mark Lees just inside the area.
The penalty decision did not end there as the game was held up for five minutes whilst Hyde’s Kevin Holsgrove had to receive attention for cramp and then an altercation on the edge of the area between Karl Noon and Ricky Mercer saw Mercer sent off for his second yellow card.
The Motormen had the better of the first half and should have had the game wrapped up by half-time.
On 10 minutes a Moogan free-kick was parried by Hyde goalkeeper Michael Jones and somehow Josh Wilson put the rebound over from two yards out.
On 20 minutes Josh Hine went through on goal for the Motormen but his left foot shot was well saved by Jones.
It was Karl Noon who broke the deadlock on 38 minutes for his fourth goal of the season.
Hyde goalkeeper Jones was unlucky as he had initially saved from Hine however Noon was on hand at the far post to bury the rebound with a rasping left foot strike.
Hyde looked a different side in the second half and got a deserved equaliser on 59 minutes.
A corner towards the far post found the head of Dean Stott who was left unmarked to head home from close range.
On 76 minutes Hyde sub Scott Mooney gave the home side the lead when his right foot shot from 10 yards out found the back of the net with the aid of a deflection.
Hyde thought they were home and dry however then came the injury-time drama.
