VAUXHALL Colts motored into the third round of the Cheshire under-17 Cup with a nail biting 3-2 win over Crewe Terriers.
Carl Roberts started the engine with a neat finish and he was backed up by John Ruddell and Greg Lodge.
l Eastham Rangers on the other hand found Signol Athletic a step too far.
Lewis Donaghue and Tommy Elton found the back of the net for Rangers.
l Craig Holman fired home a hat-trick for Shaftsbury B on their way to a 4-1 win over Wallasey Village in the Wirral Amateur Cup third round.
l AFC Houlihans had an extra time strike from Tom Neal to thank as they defeated the Wellington 1-0.
l Millcroft pleased their new backers S M Tool Hire with a fine 4-1 victory over the Old Wirral Hundred in the Wirral Junior Cup third round.
Dave McKeown was at the double and further strikes from Mike Hulligan and Dave Rogers completed the scoreline.
l Halfway Prenton kept a clean sheet and scored two via Mills and Dures as they defeated Sea Dog 2-0.
l Shaftsbury C took MacKenzies all the way to penalties thanks to an Alan Cross goal but couldn’t keep their nerve losing 4-3 on the dreaded spot kicks. Neston Athletic had Ben Pearson on target but the Telegraph was too strong winning the tie 3-1.
l Alan Bull hammered home a hat-trick for Parkside as they defeated Heswall Legion 7-0. Mike Kearney, John Buckley, Shaun Burgess and a Rob Evans wind assisted strike completed the rout.
l Houlihans Variety Club played to their strengths to knock out Wavertree Wanderers 5-0.
l The tie between Shaftsbury A and Comecon sank due to a waterlogged pitch.
l Queens Park were delighted their game went ahead as Andy Bolton, Steve Abbott and Mikey Burke all fired home twice as well as strikes from Lee Gibson and Ross Abercrombie to defeat a sorry Bidston Hotel 8-0.
l Michael Andrews had the Stirrup ahead before an equaliser from Heswall Windows’ Andy Brown looked to give both sides a share of the points.
Alan Sutton had other ideas and struck to break the Windows and steal all three points for the Stirrup.
l Gary Reay was again on target for the Dock, this time netting four in a healthy 7-0 away win at Hoylake Athletic.
Craig Johnson also found the back of the net twice alongside an Ian Brunt special.
