THE first round of the Regent Cup got underway in blustery conditions on Saturday.
Mike McGrath blasted in a hat-trick followed by singles for Gary Seargent, Alex Kewin, Ashley Miller, Steve Griffiths and Paul Cupit as New Brighton progress through with a comfortable victory. Sean Crosby, Neil Brennan netted for The Kings.

The home side smashed The Bronze in this eleven goal glut.
Ryan Morgan, Andy Small, Mike Purnell all fired in doubles aided by solos for Ricky Louchran, Alan Lewis and Ryan Adams. Stevie Smythe slotted in a brace for The Bronze.

Jamie Atherton bagged himself a treble backed up by a David Bowe double as Claughton booked themselves a place in the next round, after disposing of Parkfield.
Danny Holdsworth found the back of the net twice, whilst keeper Colin Keogh rolled back the years putting in a man of the match performance for them.
