Vauxhall Motors romp home by four Furlong goals

Whitby Town 0

Vauxhall Motors 5

THE Motormen produced a five-star second half performance at Whtiby Town on Saturday as Lee Furlong scored four times to book their place in the next round of the FA Cup with a five-goal blitz.

Vauxhalls’ took the lead three minutes into the second half when substitute Jordan Holmes swung over a cross for the unmarked Lee Furlong to head home six yards. Holmes himself headed wide three minutes later.

Furlong netted his second 20 minutes from time following some neat play with Keith Smith which Furlong finished clinically. A minute later Motors made the game safe when Chris Noone hammered in the third from Karl Noon’s lay off.

Furlong completed his hat-trick nine minutes from time when Ryan Wade’s cross found him unmarked and he calmly slotted the ball home and just three minutes later Furlong completed the rout with his fourth and Motors’ fifth of the afternoon when he lobbed Whitby keeper Woodhead.

Vauxhall Motors: St Louis-Hamilton, Wilson (Holmes 40), Dames, Lane, Hannigan, Holden, Booth (Hine 88), Smith, Noon, Furlong, Noone (Wade 78). Subs not used: Wright, Egerton.

VAUXHALL Motors have reacted with anger after The Conference decided Chester City will not have to pay for the entire loan period of Motors striker Paul Taylor.

The loan ran from 1st July 2008 to 1st January 2009.

Chester City stated they were terminating the loan agreement on the 31st October but the FA confirmed the loan agreement could not be unilaterally terminated and the player remained at Chester City until the 1st January 2009.

The Conference have advised Vauxhall Motors that Chester City need only pay for the loan up to the 6th October 2008.

Motors chairman Alan Bartlam labeled the decision “wholly unacceptable”. He stated, “I would like to know what Vauxhall Motors have done wrong to be penalised so severely while Chester get off Scott-free.”
