Vauxhall Motors 0 Stockport 1

MOTORS performed well in last Thursday evening’s pre-season match against League One outfit Stockport County.

It took a wonderful strike from County midfielder Craig Roberts 10 minutes from time to separate the sides.

The Welsman struck home a volley from fully 30 yards earning the visitors a narrow win.

Vauxhall had enjoyed good chunks of the match, particularly in the first half, forcing Stockport keeper Owain Fôn Williams into some key stops.

Gary Ablett, the former Liverpool and Everton defender now in charge at County, made 11 changes at half-time but Motors more than held their own until losing out to Roberts’s super effort.
