CONGRATULATIONS go out to all connected with Bronze Social after being crowned 2009 Truman Cup champions. Midweek action saw The Bronze take on league runners-up Upton F.C in this years final.

Underdogs Bronze upset the form book as they came from being behind twice.

Mike McGrath slotted home a brace, Steve Smyth guided home a well placed header and no 9 Steve Eagan also netting. Captain Neil Harper picked up the deserved man of the match award.

Unlucky Upton FC put in a good first half performance with goals coming via Andy Haslam and Liam Cearns their third coming late in the second half courtesy of an own goal.

THE home side had in form Ian Louchran yet again getting his name on the score sheet firing in a double as did Ashley Oldham, Terry Slemon followed on from last week banging in a solo as The Crown warm up for Thursday nights final.

Universal Windows 2

Village F.C. 2

Leading scorer Darren Eaton was at it again slotting home a single as did the ever reliable Matthew Easterbrook for Village to steal a point away from home.

Division 2

Just one game took place as the season draws to a close, Neston Legion played out a 2 - 2 draw against Central Park.

Robert Marrs (1), Paul Lloyd (1), finding the back of the net for Neston. Central had Paul Gunderson, Gary Joynson on hand to take a share of the points for the visitors.
