VAUXHALL Motors finally received official word that they have retained their place in the Blue Square North for 2008/09.
The Motormen had been forced to plan their unwanted return back to the UniBond Premier Division after losing their relegation battle in April, but the financial difficulties of three other clubs – Halifax Town, Boston United and Nuneaton Borough – mean the Wirral side will now remain in the Blue Square North.
Nuneaton went into voluntary liquidation, while Boston’s failure to exit administration by May 10 cost them their place in the Blue Square North and Halifax remain in the UniBond Premier after failing to secure new ownership or sort problems with their Company Voluntary Arrangement.
Carl Macauley’s Motormen can now finally start planning properly for the new campaign, which kicks off in just eight weeks time – although several weeks later than their rivals.
As a result of their unexpected reprieve, Motors will now be forced to restore their admission prices back to last season’s level, having initially reduced admission costs.
But they will continue to offer the season ticket prices at those originally designed for UniBond Premier Division football and indeed, extended the offer.
As a result, an adult season ticket will only be £150, but admission will cost £9 at the turnstiles per game. Concessions and students will be admitted for £6 but a season ticket would only cost £90 and Juniors will pay £3 at the gate but only £35 for their season ticket.
Also as a special incentive, Motors will also be offering family season tickets that cover an adult and junior for a combined cost of £170. For information on any of these deals, please phone 639 3955.
