IN THE Birkenhead and Wallasey Saturday Football League, the only Division One fixture of the day saw second-placed Parkfield BA encounter third-placed Moreton.
But the two teams could not be separated after 90 minutes and had to settle for a point in an entertaining 2-2 draw.
John McGragh hit two for Parkfield, while John Cupit and Danny McGrail scored from set pieces for Moreton.
In Division Two, third-placed Claughton Hotel kept up the pressure on second-placed FC VIllage with a comfortbale 4-1 victory over Trafalgar Rangers.
Mike Roach led the way with two goals and was supported by efforts from Andy Ward and Liam O’Dowd.
The battle between mid-table clubs Cental Park and Wellington ended even at 2-2. John Morrell netted again and Stuart Payne also registered.
Bronze Social kept their recent revival going, scoring three late goals to emerge 3-0 victors over struggling Wirral Wanderers.
Robbie Langton fired a smart brace and Dave Ritson also got on the scoresheet.
