Motormen continue to battle

VAUXHALL Motors continue their battle to avoid relegation from the Blue Square North, when they play host to fellow-strugglers Hucknall Town at Rivacre Park this Saturday (kick-off at 3pm).

In what is a huge game for both clubs, readers of the Wirral News could be there to lend their valuable support to Carl Macauley’s side at a special discounted admission price.

With no football in the area this weekend, all you have to do is arrive at the ground dressed in any club’s replica shirt – even a rugby one.

The Motormen want to see as many different team shirts on show as possible, for what promises to be a real make or break day for Motors.

All adults donning a replica shirt will be admitted for just £5. All concessions doing like-wise can gain entry for just £3, while all children in their favourites’ colours will be admitted free of charge.

Last Saturday, the Motormen earned a deserved point at Tamworth from a 1-1 draw, which might just prove to be crucial in the final reckoning.

Having gone behind early on, debutant striker Thomas Carroll latched on to a headed backpass to level the scores on 59 minutes.

Carroll is the club’s leading scorer in the West Cheshire League and he grabbed the chance with both hands, with Dave Roberts and Paul Taylor both out of the selection process for different reasons.
