Parkfield BA close gap at top

WITH Division One leaders Bird in Hand out of action, second placed Parkfield BA missed out on the chance to close the gap after being held to a 4-4 draw by bottom club FC Borough.

Danny Holdsworth grabbed two for Parkfield, who also had John McGragh and Steve Large on target.

Borough replied with doubles from Nathan Rose and Gary Potter, who scored a goal of the season candidate.

Third placed Moreton had Danny Croxton to thank, as his spectacular goal was enough to sink Manor Athletic 1-0.

Elsewhere, a Danny McGill volley and a diving header from Gary Howarth helped Willows to a 2-0 victory over AC Brookley.

Kelma and Sports Bar played out an entertaining 3-3 draw. A great team move was finished by Mike Night and substitute John Walker and Mike McCree also registered for Kelma.

In Division Two, leaders Future hit 11 without reply against Bebington Rovers. The Devey brothers again led the way with Mike firing a hat-trick, Paul and Billy bagging two each and Danny also on target.

Second placed FC Village also continued their good run of form with a comfortable 4-0 win over Bronze Social.

Darren Eaton struck his 20th goal of the season and was supported by strikes from John Harrison, Matthew Lee and Jason Church.

Elsewhere, Wellington eased past Wirral Wanderers 7-1, while Central Park defeated out of form Trafalgar Rangers 4-1.
