ONLY two matches survived the weather in the Birkenhead Sunday Football League.
In the third round of the Cheshire Sunday Cup, Dock AFC travelled to Moss Farm to play Rudheath Social Club.
The fixture had already been put back a week due to the weather conditions, but thankfully the pitch was in good condition and the game went ahead.
Play was all in the middle of the park, with neither team gaining an advantage.
Penalty appeals from both sides were turned down and what few chances there were did not turn into goals.
Dock come out for the second half with determination and piled on the pressure, setting up camp in the Rudheath half for most of the 45 minutes.
Although they managed to pass the Rudheath defence on numerous occasions, they still could not find the back of the net.
Sean Holmes made many runs down the left wing for the Dock, crossing the ball in for Mike McGraa, or taking the keeper on himself.
But the magnetic field around the goal repelled the ball time and again.
The game went to extra-time, and although the Dock dominated, Rudheath threatened on the break, but Paul McGregor in the Dock defence made sure they did not get through.
After finishing 0-0 after extra-time, a replay will take place next week at the Levers playing fields to increase the fixtures backlog for Dock.
The other match to go ahead was Neston Nomads against Rangers Breaks in the Presidents Cup second round.
Richie Foulkes was back on scoring form, putting two in the net for Neston, and the game was sealed with goals from Dave Forbes and Tom Colne.
Rangers Breaks managed two goals in return from Greg Beasley and Paul Coxhead.
