VAUXHALL boss Andy Mutch lost on-loan keeper Andrew Murphy the night before their long trek across country to face full-time Boston United in the Blue Square North.

Striker Paul Taylor was denied three times by Pilgrims keeper Lee Crockett, as well as striking an upright.

Tom Field cancelled out United’s opener on 29 minutes after good work by Taylor.

On the stroke of half-time, Boston carved out a 3-1 lead on the back of a 45th minute penalty.

The score remained unaltered until the end of the game, when the hosts struck twice more in injury time to earn a 5-1 victory.

The Motormen are at home this Saturday, when they play host to Solihull Moors at Rivacre Park.
