FORMER Tranmere star Ged Brannan made his home debut for Vauxhall Motors against Worcester City at Rivacre Park last Saturday.
Brannan, who went on to play for Manchester City, Motherwell and Morecambe, was drafted in last week by Motors boss Andy Mutch, who in the same week released goalkeeper Sean Lake, as the Motors revolution continued.
Newcomer Mark Reed, signed the previous week from Buxton, scored his first goal for the club in the 28th minute.
His goal gave the Motormen a deserved half time lead, but City fought back gamely after the break to level on 64 minutes via the head of Eweka Nwadike.
Vauxhall striker Paul Taylor, who twice went close to opening the scoring, then threatened to wrestle a winner for the hosts, with three efforts on goal in the closing stages – the second of which crashed against the bar after a surging run by the impressive Peter Heler.
This weekend, Motors travel to Boston United in the league before traveling over to Stalybridge Celtic in the UniBond Cheshire Senior Cup next Tuesday.
Mutch will be hoping that injured pair Jordan Holmes and Alan Griffiths will be fit to resume, especially with Mike Garrity and Heler both being suspended, while on-loan defender Shaun Kelly has now returned to Chester City.
