CAMMELL Laird went joint top of the UniBond League Division One South with a hard-fought victory over Nantwich Town.
Greg Stones had a chance to put Lairds ahead after eight minutes, but keeper Lee Jones was up to his job.
Chances went begging for both sides and it was not until the introduction of Chris Nezianya with 15 minutes to go that Laird’s tactical advantage became reality.
With just seven minutes left, Greg Stones put a through ball into the path of Nezianya who ghosted past two Dabbers’ backs to slot it past Jones to the delight of the home crowd.
And Nezianya scored the second when he appeared from nowhere to head home a Stones cross from the corner flag.
