NEW Ferry cruised into the next round of the Wirral Junior Cup with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Newton thanks to strikes from Philly Hughes (2) and Paul Haddock.
Claughton Hotel joined them after a 4-2 win over Willows. Jimmy Hodgeson grabbing two goals for the Claughton.
Division One saw Bird in Hand come back from 2-0 down to defeat FC Borough 13-2. Francis Tollman fired another hattrick for the Bird who had eight different scorers on the day.
Manor Athletic clinched a 4-2 victory over Sports Bar. New signing Mattie Davies was on the scoresheet as were Jamie Gillespie, Steve Rowan and Chris Smith.
Elsewhere, Parkfield BA recorded a 7-3 scoreline agaianst AC Brookley. Ian McGragh found the target on three occasions, Wyn Taylor struck twice, while Danny Smith and Danny Holdsworth also registered.
In Division Two, Darren Eaton was the hat-trick hero for FC Village as they overcame resurgent Bebington Rovers 4-2.
Bronze Social emphatically returned to winning ways with a 6-2 triumph over Central Park. Joe McKenna led the way with three well taken goals.
Future remained in top spot after a resounding 8-1 victory over Avenue. Paul Devey netted on four occasions, Colin Newton fired two, Colin Whitley registered and Jamie Ferguson also got on the scoresheet with a glorious chip.
In an end-to-end match, Tower edged past Trafalgar Rangers 3-2 thanks to goals from Mike Williams (2), Jonathon Edwards.
Trafalgar replied through Steve Jones and Keith O’Toole and, despite late pressure, could not force an equaliser.
