Motormen shackled by Town

THE MOTORMEN can take a lot of good things from the game – not least the fact they restricted the hosts to barely a sight of goal for an hour.

But hot-shot Paul Taylor was heavily shackled by the Harrogate defence at the other end – although the former Manchester City starlet still almost broke the deadlock just after the break.

The game swung away from the visitors on 60 minutes, when Dave Merris was tripped inside the area and Darren Dunning converted the resultant spot kick.

Five minutes later, Chris Bettney made it 2-0 with a decent finish at the far post.

This coming Saturday, the Motormen play host to Stalybridge Celtic (3pm). Bring your copy of the Wirral News to Rivacre Park and admission will be £5 for adults, £3 for concessions, while children will be admitted for free if accompanied by an adult.
