BIRKENHEAD PARK ended their best season in North One League with their 14th victory which left them fifth in the table.
They found themselves up against a very much committed Darlington team who had to win to give themselves a survival chance.
But Park had too much all round strength and might easily have won by a greater margin.
Dave Hall broke the deadlock with a try after 25 minutes following a good break by Steve Dodd but Darlington rallied for Lee Richardson to put his brother Sean in for a touchdown.
Dave Ibbotson was next to go in for Park. Hall this time converted and kicked a penalty to make it 15-5 at the break.
The second period was a disappointment for the many past players present at a re-union but Park made sure with two more kicks by Hall.
Joe Spencer again did well in the home back division and the forwards stuck to their task well at the end of a tough season.
