DESPITE being plagued by match cancellations and fixture postponements, New Brighton’s under-13s have finally been crowned winners of the 2007 Wirral Junior League.
New Brighton won 10 out of 11 league games this season, but they narrowly lost to runners up Wirral ‘A’ by four runs during their last game of the season.
Luckily, it was still enough to snatch the title despite the backlog of fixtures due to the poor weather.
The under-13s side were officially handed the league cup by manager Simon Rylance at their awards evening.
Meanwhile, some of the team have turned out for the under-15s and New Brighton’s third team in the Liverpool Competition.
