Pensby High School for Girls celebrate success in volleyball
PENSBY High School for Girls rounded off their school year in memorable fashion by winning the Merseyside under-15s title in volleyball.
Organised by Premier League 4 Sport, the event took place at Pensby Sports Centre – and the girls from the high school dominated throughout.
Wirral volleyball coach and tournament organiser, Alan Bell, said: “Pensby dominated the girls competition.
“The Pensby team were be in a different class from their opposition in the girls competition.
“They aren’t a big team but they made the court look small, with the quality of movement and control they achieved leaving no gaps for opposing teams to exploit.”
A delighted Georgina Kearsley, volleyball coach and head of PE at the school, said: “They have worked so hard with determination, motivation and enthusiasm over the past three years and now they are reaping the rewards for their efforts.
“I am so proud of them all. Each and every member of the team played a huge part in the team’s success.
“It was fantastic to watch and be part of and this will give the squads in other years something to aspire towards.
“The girls have done Pensby proud – you deserve every success. Well done!”
