Motors snap up former Liverpool youngster

VAUXHALL Motors manager Carl Macauley has signed attacking midfielder Michael Burns from Guiseley.

Burns, a former Liverpool player, was a member of their 2006 FA Youth Cup winning squad and has represented England Under-16s three times.

Since then, he has played for Bolton and Carlisle before being loaned to Newport County during 2011. He joined Guiseley in June 2011.

Meanwhile, Motors are looking to

recruit a full-time head of community as part of their football in the community programme, Vauxhall Motors Community Sports.

The job will consist of developing links between the club and the local community and working with key partners to deliver themed projects and to promote key agendas accordingly.

A club spokesman said: “This person will also be responsible for the delivery of in-school education projects and organise after schools activities for youngsters.”

The club are looking for a qualified coach with a good knowledge of football-related community schemes, preferably educated to degree level with some experience of teaching or training.
