Caldy 26-10 Stockport

CALDY bounced back from their defeat at Preston last weekend with an accomplished performance against a strong Stockport side.

Caldy were quickly out of the blocks after a great take from the kick off by JJ Dickinson drove them into the Stockport 22.

After several plays, Caldy found the space to spread the play and Liam Devaney found space out wide for a good score.

Richard Vasey kicked three consecutive penalties on 13, 15 and 19 minutes to stretch the Caldy lead to 14-0.

Caldy were destructive all day in both defence and attack and Neil Dowridge scored a cheeky try down the blind side on 36 minutes to leave the half time score at 19-0.

Stockport benefitted from the half time break and after a series of good plays Zavallis-Roebuck kicked a penalty from under the posts after Caldy were adjudged to be offside.

Caldy’s defence held strong under some serious pressure from Stockport who failed to capitalise on some good territory and Caldy made the most of their chances when Andrew Soutar collected a brilliant pass from Rich Vasey to score in the corner and Vasey converted to stretch the lead. Zavallis-Roebuck scored a brilliant individual try to narrow the lead but Caldy saw out the remainder of the game for an excellent win.
