GOLFERS from the UK and Europe are booking tee-times in Wirral’s second Golf Classic in September.
About 300 amateurs will be playing a 72-hole Stableford competition at Caldy, Heswall, Wallasey and Royal Liverpool, the venue for the 2014 Open and hosts for the five days.
Competitors will play each of the four courses with one day’s rest, with a daily competition and an aggregate Stableford prize for the top 20 players of the four rounds. Golfers from Holland, France and Spain are among the overseas entries.
Former Childwall golfer Helen Reid, now a professional at Delfland, Holland, is bringing some of her members to the tournament. She said: “Most played last year and had a great time and we have had a few more newcomers this year. The main attractions for them are the beautiful views across the Dee and Mersey, the unique challenge of each links plus, but most of all, the warm, friendly welcome in Wirral.”
The dates are September 19-23.
For entry form phone 0151 625 9994 or enter via www.wirralgolfclassic.co.uk. Entry forms have also been sent to golf clubs.
