Didsbury 4-0 Neston South Wirral

WITH injury and illness ravaging their squad, Neston South Wirral slumped to a 4-0 reverse at Lancashire Champions Didsbury.

Riding high in North Division 2, Didsbury opened the game in confident fashion, playing the ball round at pace.

Mike Coady should have opened the scoring early on for the hosts, but he hit the side netting from close range, and this provided only brief respite for the Parkgate men before Simon Darlington finished a flowing move with a simple finish.

Shortly afterwards Chris Hay made it 2-0 when he poked home.

Neston almost got themselves back in it, but a diving Andy Knight saw his deflection come off an upright, and it was virtually game over before the interval when Coady tapped in after a fortuitous rebound.

Neston worked hard after the break, but with no substitutes, they were always stretched by Didsbury's constant rotation of their midfield and forward line. Danny Hughes rounded off the scoring.
