Seacombe’s Jamie Green has qualified for the PDC UK Darts Open

JAMIE Green, 19, from Seacombe, has qualified for the PDC UK Darts Open after winning a regional event at Rileys Liverpool.

Jamie is one of 32 amateurs going into the draw to face the top 96 professional darts players from the UK order of merit.

Jamie, who has been playing darts for six years and practices for two to three hours a day said: “I am looking forward to getting up on the stage and just getting the first one [dart] away”

The PDC UK Darts Open takes place at Bolton Wanderers’ Reebok Stadium from Thursday June 3 to Sunday June 6 in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

Rileys Chief Executive Maurice Kelly said: “We’d like to wish Jamie the best of luck. We’ll be rooting for him and all our qualifiers at the Reebok.

“Everyone loves an underdog, and so Jamie has got a real chance to make a name for himself in front of the TV cameras.”
