WEST CHESHIRE AC will aim to continue their push this Sunday for a double road running promotion campaign.
The Chester and Ellesmere Port-based club's distance-running squad head for Prestatyn where the Borders Road Running League Sixth Round will come under starter's orders (11am).
West Cheshire's ladies, who are currently second in the Women's Division Two league table, will be planning to strengthen their promotion ambitions.
Sacha Kendall-Woods, Julie Wood, Lisa Ayling, Cath Osborne, and Lesley Billingsley will be attempting to build on their impressive team performance at the previous round staged at Mold.
And Jeff McQueen will be focusing his sights on another top 20 finish having achieved 15th spot at Mold in a time of 29 minutes 36 seconds.
He will be supported by in-form Jeff Kettle, Andrew Clague, Andrew Starkey, Ben Rees, Max Woods, Neil Atkinson, Paul Price, Chris Rhodes, Dave Tiernan, Richard Batterham, and Julian Clark.
West Cheshire AC are currently third in the Men's Division Two table, but need to secure at least second place to ensure promotion to Division One.
Rosemary Rogers, of West Cheshire AC, won an age category prize and sliced three minutes off her previous best time at the Cloud 8.9 miles Hill Race.
Fixtures this weekend include the Sale Harriers Indoor Open Meeting for youngsters at Sportcity, Manchester, on Saturday (10am start), while the Ernie Gallagher Young Athletes Meeting and Tom O'Mahoney Memorial Meeting take place on Sunday at Wavertree, Liverpool.
Entries are now being accepted for the Cheshire AA County Track and Field Championships, being held at Macclesfield, on Saturday and Sunday, May 8 and 9.
Entries close on April 21, and forms are now available from the West Cheshire AC Track Office at Stanney Oaks, Ellesmere Port, on Tuesday and Thursday training nights (6.30-8pm).
West Cheshire AC will start their Cheshire Track and Field League campaign at Bebington Oval, Wirral, on Sunday, 18th April, (1pm start).
Forthcoming road racing fixtures for the diary include: April 18, Whitley 10K (Whitley, Warrington); 24th North Wales 10 miles Championship (Wrexham); 25th London Marathon; 25th South Cheshire 20 miles road race (Crewe); Weds 28th Borders Road League (Deestriders).
May 7th, Christleton 5K; 8th, Salford 5K; 9th, Womens 5K and 10K (Liverpool); Sunday 16th, Chester Half Marathon; Thursday 20th, Mobberley 5.3m; Fri 28th, Dunham Massey 5K; 30th, Mersey Tunnel 10K.
