MIKE TYSON is set to leave the audience floored when he pays a visit to Vauxhall Motors ABC later this year.
‘Iron Mike’, one of the most brutal and controversial heavyweights in boxing history, will be the star guest at the club’s after-dinner show on Sunday, March 14 at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall.
The news Tyson, the former undisputed heavyweight king, is set to hold court with the Merseyside boxing fraternity comes hot on the heels of Sugar Ray Leonard’s sell-out dinner show Vauxhall held in October.
Organisers of the event are expecting another bumper crowd for the visit of the self titled ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ and have moved the show from Ellesmere Port Social Club to the Civic Hall.
Tyson, the youngest man to ever lift the world heavyweight crown when he ripped through Trevor Berbick in 1986, will be joined on the night by Sky Sports pundit and former IBF cruiserweight king Glenn McCrory.
Suffering his first professional defeat to James ‘Buster’ Douglas in 1990, Tyson regained the WBC and WBA belts before losing the latter to Evander Holyfield.
In his rematch with former cruiser king Holyfield, Tyson was disqualified for biting his opponent’s ear.
Having served three years in prison, convicted of rape, Tyson returned to the ring in 1999 before retiring in 2005.
Prices for the Sunday afternoon show vary through £95 for gold band tickets, £65 for silver and£50 for bronze seating.
A gold ticket entitles buyers to a three course meal, champagne and a photo with Tyson.
