BEBINGTON High Sports College hosted a Primary Festival of Sport for Students in nine local schools. The event was run by Bebington High Sport College PE staff, Community Coaches and Young Leaders from Bebington High Sports College.
More than 320 Year 5 students got involved in a variety of sporting activities, which included Basketball, Tag Rugby, Dance and Trampolining. Students were involved in competitions to score points for their schools and all points gained were tallied together to create a final league table.
Parents, Headteachers and other guests joined the students in the main hall for a Celebration of Sport, were Former GB Olympic and Commonwealth Hockey Player, Caroline Reid and Ex Everton FC & Tranmere Rovers FC player Derek Mountfield presented certificates.
The ceremony also included a dance performance, digital sports presentation and a closing speech by the Headteacher of Bebington High Sports College, Brian Jordan.
The winning schools Heygarth Primary and Stanton Road Primary, both received medals and trophies.
Director of sport Debbie Jennings said “The event was fantastic. It is our aim to promote sport and celebrate participation and with the help of our staff and young leaders we involve lots of youngsters in these activities.”
