CALDY Golf Club junior member Archie Boulton (aged 9 years) will not forget his recent half term in a hurry.
It started on the Wednesday when he competed in the North West of England qualifying event of HSBC's Wee Wonders national golf tournament for under 12s at Upton by Chester GC.
For the second year running he did his club proud and qualified for the regional final in Leeds next month.
If he wins that round he reaches the grand final to be held in St Andrews this summer.
Archie, a pupil at St Bridget’s School West Kirby, says, ‘I’m really looking forward to it and I know I will have to play my very best to reach St Andrews.’
As if this wasn't enough, two days later he took part in only his 3rd Junior Stableford competition at his club and managed to return an impressive 52 points off a 36 handicap... which has since been cut to 24!
