STEPHANIE Rimmer of Wallasey Gymnastics Club is celebrating becoming British Champion once again.
Eighteen-year-old Steph, in her final year at Upton Hall School, is the only gymnast on the Wirral who has represented her school at both the Northwest Schools Championships and the British Championships.
Earlier this month, Steph once again beat opposition from all over the UK by winning the gold medal to become the British champion in tumbling – the win now brings her career medal total to 125.
This is an outstanding achievement and all the gymnasts at her club are inspired by Steph and look up to her as a role model for themselves, and is a credit to both her club and the Northwest
The coaches at the club are very proud of her achievements, none more so than her dad and Senior coach Jeff Rimmer, who said: “ Steph is also a Level 3 coach and a dedicated one at that, passing her knowledge onto the children at the club and her school by coaching sessions for both. Hopefully she will play a big part on the gymnastic scene as a coach and gymnast for years to come.”
