Fabulous five win their black belts in Taekwondo

FIVE students from West Kirkby’s Jason Rodd Academy of Taekwondo achieved black belt success.

The martial arts students travelled to the main headquarters of the Taekwondo Association of Great Britain, in Bristol and took part in grading which comprised of semi-contact sparring, patterns, floor work techniques and a theory test on the history of the art.

Each student had to be successful in all areas to pass.

Instructor Jason Rodd said: “We have maintained a 100 per cent pass record for students taking Black Belt and above. I am proud to say they all performed extremely well and I’m thrilled to congratulate them on achieving their new grades. The pressure is now on for our next group in October to maintain our 100 per cent pass rate, as we will be sending 17 students to take black belts and dan grades.
