Wallasey Gymnastics Club picked up an amazing 24 gold medals at Robin Park

WALLASEY Gymnastic Club blitzed the opposition on Sunday by winning more gold medals than any other club at Robin Park, Wigan.

More than 300 Gymnasts from all over the North West competed to gain a place to represent the North West in their match against Yorkshire next month.

The gymnasts won an astonishing 24 gold, 11 silver and two bronze medals on the floor.

They also gained a further six gold, five silver and two bronze in tumbling, bringing a total of 50 medals back to Wallasey.

All the gymnasts from the club will now be representing the North West in the prestigious clash with their counterparts from the other side of the Pennines.

All the coaching staff and parents are very proud of what has been achieved now making the club one of the most successful in the whole of the NorthWest.

A spokesman said: “The town of Wallasey wish them good luck in the finals and also to all the gymnasts from the club who are competing at this month’s British Championship Finals.”
